Se Young Kim is an abstract artist from Seoul, South Korea. She has spent over 18 years in the United States and now works out of her home studio in The Hague, Netherlands.
Her current work in water marbling using 12th century techniques embody the relevance of origin in contemporary concepts. Much of her inspiration lies within her experience as an immigrant and exploration of formed identify in an individual, cultural, and physical context. Her work is intuitive and action based. She hopes to expand more broadly on the characteristics of movement in her work.
