Se Young Kim is an abstract artist from Seoul, South Korea. She has resided in the United States for the past 19 years and has recently uprooted to The Hague, Netherlands, where she hopes to find a space to continue her work.
Her current work in water marbling using 12th century techniques embody the relevance of origin in the contemporary context. Much of her inspiration lies within her experience as an immigrant and exploration of formed identify in an individual, cultural, and physical realm. She hopes to expand her work focusing on the characteristics of intuitive movement and flow in 2019.
